Augusto Cantamessa

I think one of the best contemporary photographers, a true master of the White and Black if I owe him more than 20 years ago I learned what a diaphragm and an ISO (ASA then!): I was 16 years old when he taught me how to hold a camera!

Innumerable exhibitions around the world (some of his works were exhibited in New York at the Keith De Lettis Gallery) not least of which just concluded in Pinerolo, which has seen the personalities of the theater company "Little Variety." http://www.piccolovarieta.com/home.htm

On this site you can admire some of his works

Carnival of the country

Carnival Comelico are very articulate and still full of suggestions.
Each village has its own parade of masks with rich characters like matazins and Lach, equipped with colorful and elaborate hats, belts and shawls or as mascri by bela and mascri old woman from their faces covered by masks Wood . The parade
invades the streets, performing dances in elegant, to the tune of traditional music.
You can see the " Matazin " and " Lach ", the beautiful forms of the spouses, doctors and notaries and, conversely, the cheerful company of ugly and blasphemous: clowns, devils and chimney sweeps with their cowbells . This included " Om selvàrech " (wild man), a character shrouded in an aura of sacred and carries a propitiatory value.
"The symbolism and structure in carnivals archaic, but in fact, in some mountain areas, such as in Comelico still alive and authentic - Notes Gianluigi Secco - are very strong and are functional all'augurio a fertile year. The original meaning of propitiation involves and engages the entire community. "
Kit, like life, in the parades of good and evil , the community was called upon to represent the two voltages, making a bit 'masks a corollary to the rich character guide, those who were accredited Matazin even a shamanic role. " Matazin I express authority, power, beauty, fertility and abundance through their clothes, objects and behaviors - explains Dry that the Mata and archaic character of the carnivals of the Veneto Dolomites has dedicated his latest book, -. The clothing is always so much sought after and often embellished with mirrors and stones, lace, feathers and a stick, a symbol of fertility, which touch the women who wish to have a child. They are responsible for influence, with rituals and spells on the regeneration of nature and a symbol, with the procession of the dead who practice with other forms, the return to life. "Exploding" through music and dance following the notes of old instruments linked to the pastoral world: at the bagpipes, and then the flute, the violin since 1700 and in the second half of 1800, the accordion.
A documentation of Comelico carnivals, with the presence of some carnival costumes, is in the Ethnographic Museum "The stua" of Casamazzagno.
Particularly beautiful are the faces wood. The museum, which takes its name from the wood-lined room where the family spent the winter in the warmth of the fireplace masonry, presents a reconstruction of typical rooms of the houses of Comelico and cycles of the most significant work. Casamazzagno The museum is a museum of Comelico cell system, which also includes the small Museum "The fudina" of Dosoledo Museum of Culture and the Alpine Comelico of Padola.
is the first exhibition of the whole instrumentation of "Fudina of Faure", from lathe to drill manual traction, from beading to leverage shears and brakes.
These objects testify to the evolution of a very widespread in Comelico, the itinerant tinkers of smiths, known far from the borders of their territory. In the Museum of
Padola instead are reconstructed some traditional production cycles through objects, photographs and detailed model of the craftsman Alberto De Bettin.

Situated on a natural hill immediately above the village of the faithful and Casamazzagno offers visitors a wide panoramic view across the valley.
This Gothic church which is probably a residual basis of the thirteenth century, was burned by the troops of Maximilian 'Austria in 1508 as the churches of Candide.
In 1545 it was rebuilt by "Nicholas de mistro Ruopel de Cargna" 1548Nel and consecrated in 1774 he built two chapels, which absorbed the existing external buttresses.
contains two altars: the higher up a shovel by an unknown artist with the Blessed Virgin of Health, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Francis of Paola and the statues of St. Anthony of Padua and San Lucano the fourteenth or fifteenth century as well as a altarpiece attributed to Caesar bathrooms, painted in 1609 in Udine.
The other is the Altar of the Angels, wood, with a large altarpiece by an unknown author on the 'Immaculate Conception, St. Francis d' Assisi, San Lucan and St. Peter of Alcantara.
The choir has excellent bas-reliefs with the birth of Jesus and the flight into Egypt.

new San Leonardo - The Virgin of Health
Regolieri and the inhabitants of the village of Casamazzagno in 1722 decided that it needed a larger church and closest to the center of the country was expanding: the new building was dedicated to Our Lady of Health. It was furnished with a precious altar of Brustolon, but in 1851 a devastating fire completely destroyed it.
Seven years later, in 1858 the 'engineer Anthony Pante designed a new, large church, with a dedication to San Leonardo was built from 1859 to 1870.
The altar of Our Lady of Health is enriched with a shovel A. Bettio.

JESUS \u200b\u200b'FATHER OF NAZARETH

Jesus Nazareth, pyrography of 2007, directly from Zeffirelli's film.
The message of the Messiah is to bring mutual love for all, to give his life for others without asking anything in return.
Love your neighbor as yourself: do you think today is a utopia?
